What is it?

If you want a fine French dining experience away from the over-processed Strip, head to this Las Vegas landmark.

Where is it?

On Sahara Avenue, just east of The Strip.

What kind of food is served?

Traditional French dishes are served to perfection here, with a fine rack of lamb, tender and tasty veal, succulent beef, and some marvelous fish just for starters. The menu changes so often that they don’t even have one printed -the waiters recite it to you at the table. Everything is marvelous.

What is the atmosphere like?

The interior is done up like a quaint French countryside cottage, with lots of intimate rooms and cozy nooks.

How is the service?

They have to recite the menu – that should tell you something right there. Service is impeccable.

What are the prices like?

Very reasonable for a French restaurant of this caliber. There are often a few main courses that slide under the $30 level but almost all will keep you under the $45 mark and there’s a four-course prix fixe option as well that’s right around $40.

What else do I need to know?

Pamplemousse means grapefruit in French. You actually don’t really need to know that but what the heck?

What’s the bottom line?

Classic old-school Las Vegas.
