Full Review

I’m going to make this review simple: go here and you can have a so-moist it almost dissolves in your mouth vanilla cupcake stuffed with a rich chocolate truffle center topped with vanilla and chocolate buttercream frosting. They call it “Oh My Gosh, Ganache!”

Do you really need to know anything more?

Okay, fine. The Cupcakery is a little slice of heaven in Las Vegas. As the name would imply, the serve cupcakes and that’s it. Nothing more, nothing less, and nothing else is needed except for maybe a place to actually sit and enjoy them so you don’t have to fight over them as you walk through the casino.

At any given time they offer a dozen or more varieties, the Ganache above being my hands down favorite. But being the intrepid type, I sampled a few (okay almost all) of the other offerings, purely so I could report back to you on my findings. Yes, as I was stuffing cupcake after cupcake down my gullet, I was only thinking of you. I’m a giver.

The Boston Dream is a Boston cream pie done in cupcake form with yellow cake, Bavarian cream, and chocolate ganache icing; Bugsy is their carrot cake with cream cheese frosting; Grasshopper gives you a so-rich it makes your mouth tingle chocolate cake topped with chocolate mint buttercream; the Southern Belle is basically a red velvet cake in cup form; the Good Morning is sort of a cinnamon roll disguised as a cupcake… the list goes on and on through mocha and peanut butter and coconut and chocolate and more chocolate… I think I need to sit down.

And I need to lay down over their recent invention of the cupwich – basically an inverted cupcake designed to look like an ice cream sandwich, with 2 layers of cake and frosting stuffed in between. These people are freakin’ geniuses.

Each cupcake is going to run you around $3, which is insanely pricey but absolutely, totally worth it and actually cheaper than similar cupcake places I know of in Los Angeles. You can save yourself a couple of bucks by ordering a dozen and no one will blame you a bit.

The main store is located at 9680 S. Eastern Avenue about a mile south of Interstate 215. Another location is at 7175 W. Lake Mead Blvd. just west of I-95. Trust me when I tell you that making the trip for these is worth the effort.
