What is it?

In business, in one location or another, since 1949, the Bootlegger Bistro is part restaurant and part lounge with nightly entertainment including their very popular “Open Mic” Mondays.

Where is it?

On Las Vegas Boulevard, a few miles south of Mandalay Bay.

What kind of crowd does it draw?

A lot of locals go here but it’s pretty popular with tourists as well. The crowd is usually older (think 30s and up) but still knows how to have a good time.

What are the prices like?

Reasonable. You can have a couple of beers for under $20, which is pretty rare on The Strip.

When is the best time to go?

Mondays for “Open Mic” night. You’ll often find some surprise celebrities (both from Vegas and elsewhere) showing up to sing a tune or two.

Why should I go here?

Because it’s a Vegas landmark.

What else do I need to know?

The restaurant serves up hearty Italian fare, that while not necessarily worthy of any awards, is satisfying to most palates.

What’s the bottom line?

Not a destination bar except on those really fun on those open microphone nights.
