What is it?

Lake Mead is the largest manmade reservoir in the United States, formed in the 1930s when Hoover Dam was built. Through the various marinas around the lake you can arrange fishing, boating, jet-skiing, and more. See additional information below for details on the marinas.

Where is it?

About 30 miles east of Las Vegas.

Is it worth the cost?

Prices vary depending on what activity you are going to do, how long you’re going to do it, and which marina you choose. Since there is no other way place to go jet skiing (for example) in the area, it seems like the prices are worth it.

Why should I go here?

Because you don’t make a fool of yourself when you try to go water skiing. Not that I’m saying that I do…

What else do I need to know?

The Lake Mead National Park also offers hiking and horseback riding trails, camping, and other recreation activities.

What’s the bottom line?

One of our national wonders.
