What is it?

These are the people who made prime rib famous and for good reason.

Where is it?

Just adjacent to the intersection of Paradise Road and Flamingo, not too far from Silver Sevens.

What kind of food is served?

For more than 60 years, since the original Lawry’s opened in Los Angeles, prime rib has been the staple and centerpiece of the menu here. Over time they have added other cuts of meat and even some seafood entrees but it’s primarily the prime rib that people come here for. Select your cut from a carving tray and then be prepared for one of the best examples of this dish that you’ll find anywhere on earth.

What is the atmosphere like?

The Vegas branch of Lawry’s is done in a vaguely 30’s art deco style. It’s quite nice, with just the right touch of elegance for this kind of meal.

How is the service?

Among the best in town at any priced restaurant. Here, serving the food is more than just running back and forth to the table. They elevate it to a virtual art form including the presentation of the salad as some sort of performance theater.

What are the prices like?

This is not one of those $4.95 all you can eat specials that you may see advertised around town. The food is much better and consequently the prices are higher. Expect anywhere from $50-75 per person once you add in all the extras.

What else do I need to know?

A friend called the English trifle on the dessert menu the best she’s ever eaten.

What’s the bottom line?

A classic.
