What is it?

Definitely not a place for the faint of heart, the Double Down may not be as “dive bar” as it looks but it does a very realistic imitation of one with lots of grafitti, punk/rock artwork, and a no-nonsense staff. There is one basic rule posted so everyone can see: “You puke, you clean it up.”

Where is it?

Just off The Strip on Paradise Ave just south of Harmon Avenue.

What kind of crowd does it draw?

A strange combination of alt-trendy tourists, goth locals, and punk rockers that, surprisingly seem to get along just fine.

What are the prices like?

Cover charges vary depending on the events but they are never terribly high and the drink prices are affordable.

When is the best time to go?

Check the website for the listing of bands and when they are playing. You may not have heard of any of them but a quick Google search will clue you as to the kind of music you can expect.

Because you adhere to their other motto: “Shut up and drink.”
