What is it?

A small art gallery that hosts a rotating series of shows from contemporary and classic artists, from masterworks by Picasso to pop art by Warhol to current art by Steve Martin (yes, that Steve Martin).

Where is it?

At Bellagio on the Center Strip. It’s located just opposite the main pool entrance.

Is it worth the cost?

It’s a little pricey for the size but there are few opportunities like it in Vegas to see fine art and the shows they have can be very impressive.

What else do I need to know?

There are complimentary docent tours every day at 2pm.

What’s the bottom line?

Art lovers should make a beeline here. Everyone else will wonder how quickly they can get through it so they can get back to the craps table.

Full Review

In a city that is rarely associated with culture, it is something of a miracle to find the Bellagio Gallery of Fine Art right smack dab in the middle of all of Vegas’ gaudy glory.

The space is not huge – it’s not the Tate or the Louvre by any stretch of the imagination – but they get some big names in there including Picasso, Warhol, and Martin (as in Steve, yes that one). The exhibits change periodically throughout the year so check the website to see what might be showing when your trip is scheduled.

I’ll admit that I’m not great at art, especially in Vegas. I go into a space like this, look at a painting, and they start searching for the place where I can insert money and spin the reels. But it is lovely to have something like this in town and those who are a bit more culturally adept than me should find it satisfying.
